About Us

·         Planned and executed the first live broadcast 60 feet under the Atlantic Ocean at the Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary.

·         Embedded with 3rd Infantry Division, 92nd Engineers in Kandahar Afghanistan during Operation Anaconda and war on Tora Bora.

·         Followed local troops to Kuwait. Flew missions over the Iraq-Kuwait boarder. Shot, produced and edited 30-minute specials.

·         Covered Hurricanes Bertha, Fran, Bonnie, Floyd, Charlie, Jeannine and Rita. Traveled to North Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana. In 2008, provided field audio during hurricanes Gustav, Hanna and Ike to NBC and MSNBC networks.

·         Produced live broadcasts for NBC’s Today Show, NBC Nightly news, CBS Evening news, MSNBC and CNN.

·         Traveled to Mexico with the Spyhop Productions to video document the nesting habits of the Kemp’s Ridley Turtle.

Who We Are                                  

Mehmet Caglayan, Professional News Videojournalist, graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1995 earning a B.S degree in Broadcasting and minor in Political Science. His first big story was hurricane Bertha and Fran in 1996, where he traveled to North Carolina. During 1996 Summer Olympics, he was the only NBC photographer in Savannah to cover the sailing events. In 1998 he became the Chief Photographer at WSAV TV in Savannah. He traveled to Kandahar, Afghanistan and Kuwait City, Kuwait after 9/11. Embedded with the 3rd ID, his video footage helped many military families to see their loved ones on TV. After 9 years at WSAV, Mehmet excepted the Chief Photographer position at WTOC TV. He traveled to Florida twice during the worst hurricane season in decades and brought live reports from 4 different locations. Mehmet is currently attending Savannah College of Art and Design to earn a MFA in Film and Television.
